An e-learning module on human rights challenges: building awareness

Edh has developed a 30-minute e-learning module for the employees of the association’s member companies.

The video aims to help participants identify issues related to human rights in their day-to- day environment as well as the areas that pose the greatest risk. It also highlights key reflexes for managing such risks.

Video to increase business and human rights awareness
(5 minutes, English & French)

Created by the Spanish Network of the Global Compact and translated by edh, this video provides a succinct and easy-to-follow presentation of the topic of business and human rights. It reviews the fundamentals of human rights and the United Nations Guiding Principles, which is the current framework for businesses. Providing real-life examples that apply to all businesses, it illustrates the concept of corporate responsibility to respect human rights.

The development of e-learning modules targeted by issues or business lines

To support its members as effectively as possible, the association is currently developing elearning modules focused on operational issues or focusing on a function-based approach. This allows them to benefit from training adapted to their needs and that they can widely disseminate within their companies.

Face-to-face training

Noting the absence of specific training programmes on human rights in companies, edh has designed, since 2010, a human rights awareness module for employees of member companies.  This one-day classroom module aimed to raise awareness of human rights issues in companies and to integrate the human rights component into managerial decision-making and subsequent implementation. The program is now adapted and focused on identifying and managing the risks required by the duty of vigilance of companies.
